World AIDS Day Exclusive: HIV Discoverer Admits HIV Scam

BREAKING NEWS - The drug industry pushes ineffective drugs and vaccines because they cannot profit from good nutrition or clean water - so says Nobel Laureate (2008) and HIV Discoverer Luc Montagnier, MD in this just-released disclosure.

As I explained last Saturday, if the world learned today that HIV is no longer a threat, the financial and political beneficiaries of HIV and AIDS would no longer be needed and the CDC and NIAID have no rational reason to exist.

While the lamestream media slept through Montagnier’s simple CURE FOR AIDS, the usual suspects accused the filmmaker of tricking (sucker-punching) the world-acclaimed scientists who appeared in the film. In response, Leung posted this additional clip, which added:

Montagnier: I would think so… It’s important knowledge, which is completely neglected. People always think of drugs and vaccine.

Brent Leung: There’s no money in nutrition, right?

Montagnier: There’s no profit, yes.

Still, this wasn’t enough for the pharmaceutical lawyers who ghostwrote Jeanne Bergman’s revised arguments. Although they acknowledge that the "discoverer of HIV" is “clearly not a denialist,” the lawyers that defend drugs like Benoxaprofen and Vioxx used Bergman’s rent-a-PhD to claim Leung “sucker-punched” Montagnier with “leading questions.”

Michael Specter Scheduled for Comedy Central

Age of Autism reports that Michael Specter is scheduled to appear on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart this week.

As I reported last week, Specter routinely attacks – as Denialists – those who ask why taxpayers spend billions to fight statistically irrelevant threats like HIV, HPV, H1N1, and ADHD with drugs like AZT, Gardasil, flu shots and SSRIs when adverse drug reactions (ADRs) kill more patients than the alleged diseases. Specter complains of distrust of our scientific institutions as if Benoxaprofen, Robert Gallo, and Al Gore never existed. Specter apparently missed the billions spent by Pfizer and Lilly to settle criminal and civil complaints just a few months ago.

When computer hackers are viewed more favorably than the scientists they expose, Specter’s arguments become as thin as his book sales. The fact that the Global Health Council (GHC), which is funded by a who’s who of pharmaceutical sugar daddies, awarded Specter two media awards is telling.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't care that Specter appears on a comedy channel. But since Comedy Central now has more credibility than the lamestream media, the venue is more important.

The Making of a Denialist

Last summer when Thomas DeLorenzo lamented that Ryan White wasn’t around to lobby for ObamaCare, it was hard not to choke on his words. After all, Ryan would be alive today if individuals like Robert Gallo MD and Martin Delaney hadn’t convinced his mother to poison him with AZT.

If alive, Ryan would be as terrifying as Lindsay Nagel, the toddler who appears in the new documentary House of Numbers. Like Ryan, Lindsay was diagnosed as HIV+ during the 1990s and, according to her highly trained medical experts, would soon die. But when her parents interrupted her AIDS medication after 22 months, her symptoms immediately subsided and - despite repeated threats from clinicians that she would not survive kindergarten - Lindsay and Karri Stokely have touched audiences around the US for having survived drugs that killed Ryan, Martin Delany, Hank Wilson, Ferd Eggan, Joyce Hafford, Belynda Dunn, Joe Carroccio, George Sanderson, Howard Jacobs and thousands of other allegedly HIV+ patients and activists.

For gay activists and unethical researchers, Ryan’s death helped to promote the myth of heterosexual AIDS. As the Dulcinea of HIV, researchers and activists used Ryan’s death to attack, as denialists, anyone who questioned the wisdom of redirecting billions of research dollars away from America’s leading causes of death toward meth addicts, drug companies, universities and the CDC (i.e. PharmaSluts).

NOTE: While PharmaSlut is regretfully used to identify the financially symbiotic influence between activists, universities, researchers, marketing executives and pharmaceutical lobbyists who promote deadly drugs like Benoxaprofen, AZT, Sustiva and SSRIs to the detriment of public health, Denialist is routinely used by John P. Moore PhD and pharmaceutically-funded propagandists like this and this to attack the understandably skeptical. That clinicians cannot police themselves a decade after the Wazana Report – and that Eli Lilly and Pfizer recently paid billions to settle criminal and civil liabilities – skepticism is justified.

Like Daniel Kuritzkes, John Moore and others who signed this statement, DeLorenzo attacked a documentary he never saw. Like sunlight to vampires, House of Numbers threatens those who rely on tax revenues that are wasted on what film exposes as tragic but statistically irrelevant (chart) consequence of self-destructive behavior that never threatened more than a tiny population of promiscuous gay meth addicts.

Having arrested, physically examined, tested and prosecuted more than 2500 drug addicts, I understand the self-destructive lifestyle better than most. Whether one believes that HIV is real or not, the documentary’s explosive revelations offer a compelling argument that there’s too much money in AIDS to consider a cure.

While a cure appeals to AVERT activists, epidemiologist Walt Senterfitt PhD struggles with how to exaggerate AIDS statistics that peaked at 0.015 percent in 1995 and fell the moment clinicians reduced the levels of AZT given to patients. It also explains why they continue to inexplicably celebrate the ADR-related deaths of Eliza Jane and her mother.

Although Americans understand the problem with hiring gangsters as policemen or pedophiles as scoutmasters, the idea that US healthcare policy and statistics can be influenced by avowed anti-capitalist social revolutionaries represents a larger threat than HIV ever did.

As a CHAMP co-Chair, the mission of this CDC and LA County Health Department epidemiologist is to:

… attack the root causes of the epidemic such as poverty, homophobia and racism; and to sustain and expand our movements for justice.

As implausible as HIV/AIDS causation is, the idea that retroviruses engage in the racial, homophobic and economic profiling requires another theological stretch of the imagination. But if we consider that the CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) exaggerates estimates to justify the $653 million spent in 2008 to employ 442 full-time bureaucrats, advisors, analysts and 163 contractors plus 43 other employees to poison thousands like Martin Delany, Ferd Eggan, Joyce Hafford and Howard Jacobs to ostensibly save an insignificant number of self-destructive meth addicts, audiences appreciate what makes House of Numbers so provocative and the PharmaSluts so nervous. The fact that infectious disease has been statistically irrelevant since 1955 makes one wonder what justifies the CDC’s $8.8 billion budget today.

It’s also no surprise that Luc Montagnier MD and James Chin, MD MPH parted ways with the most outrageous characters of the film.

And if none of the Grand Dragons of HIV noticed that they were being sucker-punched by the soft-spoken film student, why are Americans still spending billions for them to figure out how a retrovirus that kills millions can do so without the AMA or South African statisticians even noticing?

Bergman’s ghostwriters composed this statement weeks before the film’s release.

Having worked with more hundreds of attorneys on thousands of criminal and civil cases since 1980, I would coach Niel Constantine and Robin Weiss to say exactly what they said.

Dr. Constantine works for Robert Gallo, as did this aspiring security guard and filter salesman who investigated Robert Gallo’s scientific misconduct for Robert Gallo. On a related note, the security guard is now being investigated for conducting an investigation without a license.

Dr. Weiss’ arguments about co-factors were part of the hijinks. He fails to explain why he thinks co-factors are important and Robert Gallo does not. Then again, I'm not sure why Gallo and those who disagreed with him onscreen were upset. Science is not about consensus.

All in all, Brent Leung’s documentary hits a home run simply because he allows the scientists to speak for themselves. It is the most important documentary on scientific corruption since Jeffrey Wigand PhD exposed the tobacco industry. We’ll just have to wait for the pharmaceutical insider.

Until then, who will we believe – multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies that routinely settle criminal and civil cases for billions of dollars OR those that don’t beleive every commercial and glossy ad that we see? For this investigator, the answer isn’t nearly as hard as Bergman’s lawyers would have us believe.

Big Pharma Sells Out

However the Senate's health-care debate pans out, we'll wager this prediction: The pharmaceutical executives who have endorsed this exercise will eventually be exposed as among the most shortsighted CEOs in the history of capitalism.

In June, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America sealed a deal with the White House and Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus promising to contribute $80 billion in lower drug costs over the next decade to ObamaCare, plus a multimillion-dollar TV ad campaign. In return they were to be spared from price controls and the reimportation of cheaper foreign drugs.

The loophole is that the deal didn't include the House, and now it may fall apart in the Senate. But even if it does somehow survive, by now it is obvious that the industry's political protection will last only as long as it takes to pass a bill, whereupon the same politicians who are trying to override this deal will get back to work.

"You've heard that as a consequence of our efforts at reform, the pharmaceutical industry has already said they're willing to put $80 billion on the table," President Obama said in July. "We might be able to get $100 billion out or more."

… this son of HillaryCare is headed toward passage, and when shareholders start griping about lousy returns, Mr. Kindler and his fellow executives will be long gone. It's one more reminder that when it comes to protecting economic freedom, you can never trust big business. Five Surgeons Talking Shop

Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon, from New York, says, "I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered."

The second, from Chicago, responds, "Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded."

This explains why Kuritzkes and other PharmaSluts signed this press release weeks before the documentary House of Numbers debuted. Like HIV, they identified the documentary as dangerous before they ever saw it.

Since its release, Cornell virologist John Moore PhD alleged that he and his co-signers were deceived and that the documentary was “deliberately edited to make AIDS scientists look bad…” Despite the filmmaker’s open invitation to address their allegations, none have identified a single excerpt where their statements were taken out of context or improperly edited, preferring instead to use their diplomas to prove their unfounded allegations.

Gay Activist Groups: The pathological connection between drug addiction, bath houses and anal orgies is no secret. But when well-meaning clergy suggested that God had something to do with their behavior-related diseases in 1981, outraged activists accused them of homophobia. (Some CDC scientists still do.)

At the time, infectious disease had become statistically irrelevant (p2) and many researchers faced unemployment. Their subsequent AIDS hysteria resulted in billions of wasted research dollars to find politically-correct excuses for promiscuous gay meth addicts who refused to admit that their illnesses were behavior-related. The CDC continues to market HIV today, despite its statistical nonexistence.

Gay meth addicts like Peter Staley founded activist groups like TAG, which has since received millions of dollars from well-meaning celebrities, philanthropists and PharmaSluts. Although the American Medical Association (AMA) reports that AIDS killed no more than 15 out of 100,000 Americans during the peak of the AIDS hysteria in 1995, Staley’s organization wants another $20 billion in AIDS funding (p5) despite already consuming 21 percent of all US medical research funding.

South Africa: While PharmaSluts like Aaron Motsoaledi, Jeanne Bergman and Nathan Geffen claim that hundreds of thousands have died from HIV in South Africa, the actual numbers are much different. Between 1997-2002, HIV-related mortality remained at or below 10,000/year (page 22). Although reporting climbed in 2006 and dropped in 2007, the 2.2 percent the numbers represent is far below (report) the 1000+ deaths per day reported by the PharmaSluts.

Additionally, the South African population actually grew from 44.8 million in 2001 to 47.9 million in 2007. As Harry Haveros MD explained, the higher the numbers the more money they get. In 2008, US taxpayers sent $48 billion to fight AIDS in Africa where the myth pays off politicians who allow 1600+ international mining companies to sack Africa’s mineral wealth.

The Victims: Along the way, heterosexual children like Ryan White and Lindsay Nagel were exploited to corroborate the myth of heterosexual AIDS. Condemned as HIV+, their parents were told that both only had months to live and prescribed AZT. As both children began to die, Peter Duesberg convinced Lindsay’s parents that the drugs would kill her. While Ryan stayed on the drugs, Lindsay’s parents stopped the treatments immediately.

Despite threats that she would never see her fifth birthday, Lindsay was a healthy teenage girl when she met Professor Duesberg in Nashville in 2009. While Ryan’s unnecessary death is still officially celebrated, Lindsay and Professor Duesberg are vilified by pharmaceutically-funded activists and marketers.

In House of Numbers Dr. Kuritzkes explained Ryan’s needless death and thousands of others: “In retrospect the dose we started with, with AZT, was a dangerous and poorly tolerated dose.” Immediately after AZT dosages were lowered in 1995, AIDS mortality plummeted.

Today, PharmaSluts market HIV drugs as improved, as if a slower poisoning improves the quality of life. On the bright side, the “improved” drugs like Atripla combine the addictive qualities of methamphetamines (Sustiva-Efavirenz) with the liver toxins tenofovir and emtriva so that gay men will feel better about poisoning themselves to death. By killing them more slowly, the PharmaSlut shareholders can prescribe and profit from the drugs for longer periods.

While HIV drugs don’t kill people as quickly as they did during the 1980s and 1990s, they still kill. Karri Stokely almost died from HIV drugs but made a full recovery when she stopped them in 2006. The hardest part of her recovery was breaking her addiction to Sustiva, which is as powerfully addictive as the gay drug of choice.

When longtime HIV/AIDS/gay advocate Howard Jacobs died last week at the age of 45, it was not from AIDS but from liver failure. Jacobs drank the Kool-Aid, paid the price and no one at the Advocate, LGBTPOV, POZ, LA Observed, LA Independent, WEHO News, Thinking Positive, or Positively Aware asked why. To these recipients of generous pharmaceutical advertising campaigns, gay bashing is worse than being poisoned to death for profit and gay politics. Talk about self-loathing.

Government Agencies:

CDC: Despite the statistical irrelevance (p2) of infectious disease, the CDC allocates nearly half of its $9.2 billion budget to HIV and immunizations. As of November 2009, H1N1 has officially claimed 1049 lives, which represents 0.00034 percent of the entire US population:

1049 of 305,529,237 = 0.000343 percent

If not for the hysteria, the CDC would not exist. Not surprisingly, the vaccine recall has begun.

FDA: Also controlled by the pharmaceutical industry. According to The Lancet editor Richard Horton:

… the FDA saw and continues to see the pharmaceutical industry as its customer – a vital source of funding for its activities – and not as a sector of society in need of strong regulation. Worse still, the FDA’s Office of Drug Safety co-exists in the same centre… as the agency that works most closely with industry to license new medicines… The inherent precedence that licensing of new drugs takes over safety evaluation is a serious flaw in FDA’s complex regulatory structure…

After fast-tracking deadly drugs like Vioxx (interview) between 1994-2005, FDA chief Janet Woodcock MD is only now coming under the scrutiny of HHS officials for her accommodating relationship with the drug industry.

NGOs: PharmaSluts like Women in Government (WIG) and the Global Health Council (GHC) have too many pharmaceutical sugar daddies to list. As Lucinda Marshall writes, WIG appeared along with hundreds of doctors who flocked like pigeons for Merck’s $4500 checks to pimp Gardasil. Fined billions for killing and injuring thousands, the maker of Vioxx hoped to recover their losses with the CDC’s HPV hysteria.

Useful Idiots: Like Dr. Kuritzkes, when PharmaSluts receive awards and recognition, the drug industry isn’t far behind. So when Seth Kalichman PhD received an “Outstanding Research Article Award” from the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care in 2006, their corporate sponsors included Abbott Laboratories, Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Ortho Biotech Products, L.P., Tibotec Therapeutic Clinical Affairs, Virco Lab, Inc.,

Like Kalichman, Michael Specter attacks – as Denialists – those who ask why taxpayers spend billions to fight statistically irrelevant threats like HIV, HPV, H1N1, and ADHD with drugs like AZT, Gardasil, flu shots and SSRIs when adverse drug reactions (ADRs) kill more patients than the alleged diseases. Specter complains of distrust of our scientific institutions as if Benoxaprofen, Robert Gallo and Al Gore never existed. But when computer hackers are viewed more favorably than the scientists they expose, Specter’s arguments become as thin as his book sales. The fact that the GHC awarded Specter two media awards is also revealing.

According to Alessandra Stanley, Farrah Fawcett’s “incessant tabloid intrusion” might have been worthwhile if only she (and NBC) had allowed Merck to exploit her death for their flagging Gardasil campaign as NBC did for HIV in 2008. For Fawcett’s crime, Stanley wrote that anal cancer is sexually transmitted and that the “HPV vaccine is the most promising form of prevention.” One wonders why Stanley doesn’t share her husband’s name.

Have Hackers Exposed Al Gore's Scam?

According to James Delingpole and Watts Up With That, a hacker has broken into the computers at the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit (aka Hadley CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the Internet. Delingpole writes:

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at Hadley CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

One of the alleged emails has a gentle gloat over the death in 2004 of John L Daly (one of the first climate change sceptics, founder of the Still Waiting For Greenhouse site), commenting:

“In an odd way this is cheering news.”

But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause. Here are a few tasters. (So far, we can only refer to them as alleged emails because – though Hadley CRU’s director Phil Jones has confirmed the break-in to Ian Wishart at the Briefing Room – he has yet to fess up to any specific contents.) But if genuine, they suggest dubious practices such as:

Manipulation of evidence:

"I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline."

Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:
"The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate."

Suppression of evidence:
"Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4? Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis. Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address. We will be getting Caspar to do likewise."

Fantasies of violence against prominent Climate Sceptic scientists:
"Next time I see Pat Michaels at a scientific meeting, I’ll be tempted to beatthe crap out of him. Very tempted."
Attempts to disguise the inconvenient truth of the Medieval Warm Period (MWP):
"…… Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K back–I think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to 'contain' the putative 'MWP', even if we don’t yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back…."
And, perhaps most reprehensibly, a long series of communications discussing how best to squeeze dissenting scientists out of the peer review process. How, in other words, to create a scientific climate in which anyone who disagrees with AGW can be written off as a crank, whose views do not have a scrap of authority.

“This was the danger of always criticising the skeptics for not publishing in the 'peer-reviewed literature'. Obviously, they found a solution to that–take over a journal! So what do we do about this? I think we have to stop considering 'Climate Research' as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal. W e would also need to consider what we tell or request of our more reasonable colleagues who currently sit on the editorial board… What do others think?”

“I will be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor.”

“It results from this journal having a number of editors. The responsible one for this is a well-known skeptic in NZ. He has let a few papers through by Michaels and Gray in the past. I’ve had words with Hans von Storch about this, but got nowhere. Another thing to discuss in Nice!”

Hadley CRU has form in this regard. In September – I wrote the story up here as “How the global warming industry is based on a massive lie” – Hadley CRU’s researchers were exposed as having “cherry-picked” data in order to support their untrue claim that global temperatures had risen higher at the end of the 20th century than at any time in the last millenium. Hadley CRU was also the organisation which – in contravention of all acceptable behaviour in the international scientific community – spent years withholding data from researchers it deemed unhelpful to its cause. This matters because Hadley CRU, established in 1990 by the Met Office, is a government-funded body which is supposed to be a model of rectitude. Its HadCrut record is one of the four official sources of global temperature data used by the IPCC.
I asked in my title whether this will be the final nail in the coffin of Anthropenic Global Warming. This was wishful thinking, of course. In the run up to Copenhagen, we will see more and more hysterical (and grotesquely exaggerated)stories such as this in the Mainstream Media. And we will see ever-more-virulent campaigns conducted by eco-fascist activists, such as this risible new advertising campaign by Plane Stupid showing CGI polar bears falling from the sky and exploding because kind of, like, man, that’s sort of what happens whenever you take another trip on an aeroplane.

The world is currently cooling; electorates are increasingly reluctant to support eco-policies leading to more oppressive regulation, higher taxes and higher utility bills; the tide is turning against Al Gore’s Anthropogenic Global Warming theory. The so-called “sceptical” view is now also the majority view.

Unfortunately, we’ve a long, long way to go before the public mood (and scientific truth) is reflected by our policy makers. There are too many vested interests in AGW, with far too much to lose either in terms of reputation or money, for this to end without a bitter fight. But if the Hadley CRU scandal is true, it’s a blow to the AGW lobby’s credibility which is never likely to recover.

If the hacked emails are accurate, it implicates all universities that attract grant research like those related to the pharmaceutical industry. It also reminds us that hacking is not as morally repugnant as it once was.

Police Apologize to Felons

Should Mara Salvatrucha turn itself into a religion? Why not? The police are apologizing to Islam's felons:

The Ummah, a violent fundamentalist Sunni Islamic group in Detroit, advocates a separate Islamic state that would be controlled by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, also known as H. Rap Brown, a veteran of the black power movement now in prison for gunning down two police officers. According to the U.S. Department of Justice the Ummah group “is alleged to have engaged in violent activity over a period of many years, and known to be armed.”

Last month, as the result of a two-year investigation, the FBI raided the Michigan headquarters of the group, now headed by Luqman Ameen Abdullah, sought by the FBI for providing firearms and ammunition to a person known to be a convicted felon, sale or receipt of stolen goods, and other violations. Luqman Ameen Abdullah fired at federal officers, who returned fire and killed him.

Other members of the group remained at large, including Yassir Ali Khan and Mohammad Al-Sahli, also known as Mohammad Palestine, both wanted for conspiracy to commit federal crimes. The pair were arrested across the border in Windsor, Ontario, by local police cooperating with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

In the course of the arrest, Windsor police patted down one of the suspect’s wives. This sparked complaints about police insensitivity. Gary Smith, Windsor’s chief of police, promptly issued a public apology.

“It was never the intention for Windsor police officers to offend or embarrass the families of our Islamic community,” said Smith’s press release. “The actions taken did cause embarrassment and did offend their religious beliefs. I sincerely apologize to the families and the Islamic community.” The police chief further called for more “cultural sensitivity training.

Even if we accept that women who marry Islamic felons are capable of embarrassment, the idea that the majority of law abiding citizens could compel the police to apologize to a community’s most depraved fringe group makes me wonder if MS13 is doing it all wrong. As a religion, they could turn drive-by shootings into a rite and dismemberment into a covenant.

Holocaust Survivor on Acquiescent Islam

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. Professor Bauer Recaps RA2009

As part of my ongoing pharmaceutical case, I attended RA2009 Conference in Oakland, California this month where I finally met many of the people who have helped me along in the investigation. I haven’t written about the conference largely because it was so personally moving. The conference was a celebration of life that offered many signs that what now appears to be a 28-year multi-billion dollar political scam is coming closer to an end.

Unlike so many other conferences that I’ve attended, most of us (if not all) had “skin in the game” – university professors, doctors, chemists, economists who had endured retaliation for asking too many questions and others who had been sentenced to die many years ago. Individuals like Karri Stokely and Lindsay Nagel smile in a way that those who beat death can smile.

It’s only natural that in recalling this occasion we will wonder just what made it so remarkable. Cynics might even suggest that it wasn’t really unique, just that those in attendance hadn’t much experience of similar get-togethers.

For me personally, no such explanation could hold water. I’ve been to innumerable professional conferences on chemistry and history of science or science studies, where there has sometimes been excitement over specific items or topics, but nothing like the communal atmosphere and impact of RA2009. I’ve been to meetings where a single purpose was passionately shared — the wish to preserve academic standards and integrity — but we were always a noticeably homogeneous crowd of largely white, male, senior professors. I’ve participated in several other organizations of contrarian bent, for example several of the International Conferences on the Unity of the Sciences which brought together people of all stripes and disciplines and beliefs from all over the world, but the actual proceedings were in small groups and little different from academic seminars; enjoyable as interdisciplinary discussions freed from the blinders of the traditional fields of knowledge but no more than that.

The Society for Scientific Exploration was established precisely to enable disciplined discussion of matters ignored or shunned by the mainstream disciplines, and its meetings have some of the characteristics that RA2009 displayed — wide range of intellectual backgrounds, joint experience of struggling against mainstream dogma, the making of friends through shared endeavor — but, again, not the extraordinary symbiosis of intellect, emotion, spirit, and very specific common purpose evident at RA2009. In the proper meaning of that much-misused word, RA2009 was UNIQUE in a very meaningful way. (More here)

Spectator Exposes AARP Sluts

Philip Klein on AARP's support of ObamaCare:

AARP, which has given its full-throated support to Democratic health care legislation even though seniors remain largely opposed, received an $18 million grant in the economic stimulus package for a job training program that has not created any jobs, according to the Obama administration's Recovery.gov website.

The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), according to the website, is "a work training program for unemployed mature workers who are 55+ and are at or below 125% of the poverty guidelines." So far, $6.5 million has been spent on the program, and it has not reported creating any jobs.

In February, the Politico reported that AARP was putting pressure on Republican members of Congress to support the stimulus package. Since then, AARP has moved on to lobbying for passage of health care legislation, even though Democratic proposals have called for several hundred billion dollars in cuts to Medicare, a program that the group typically defends tooth and nail when Republicans propose cutting it. A recent Pew survey found that just 31 percent of those over 65 supported health care legislation being touted by AARP.

As it turns out, AARP is also in a position to benefit financially if the health care legislation passes, because seniors losing benefits as a result of cuts to Medicare Advantage will be forced to buy Medigap policies, which is the main source of AARP revenue. Barry Rand, the chief executive of AARP, was a big donor to the Obama campaign and has retained a cozy relationship with the administration.

The stimulus grant to AARP was reported by WatchDog.org, a site run by the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, which also found that stimulus funds were funneled into another liberal interest group, the National Council of La Raza.

UPDATE: AARP has not yet returned a call seeking comment.

CDC Ends Mandatory HPV Vaccination

AHRP and Taragana report that the CDC will no longer require immigrant girls and women to be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus (HPV). The CDC's discriminatory administrative directive MANDATING immigrant girls who posed no risk to the community to be vaccinated with Merck's HPV Gardasil vaccine was put into effect, July, 2008:

The CDC's newly adopted criteria to determine which vaccines will be required for immigrants: the vaccine must protect against a disease that has the potential to cause an outbreak, has been eliminated in the U.S. or is in the process of being eliminated from the country.

In addition to removing the HPV vaccine mandate, the CDC change also means the Zoster vaccine to protect against shingles won't be required of immigrants 60 or older.

As acknowledged by Dr. Katrin Kohl, deputy director in the CDC's division of global migration and quarantine, cervical cancer and shingles "are not easily transmissible." Furthermore, "They don't fit into the whole public health spirit of outbreak prevention."

In August, 2009, the Alliance for Human Research Protection received a frantic plea for help from a 22-year old immigrant woman with an underlying neurological condition for which she is being treated. Her well-founded, informed concern that the vaccine's potential adverse effects could jeopardize her health and her safety, was justified.

She emigrated from an industrialized country, was about to be married, and has regularly had PAP tests to screen for cervical cancer--and they were negative. However, she could not find a physician in the U.S. who would back-up her concerns in a letter to the Immigration authorities.

AHRP turned to the physician/scientist whose expertise about the HPV vaccine is indisputable: matched by the ethical standard guiding her conscience and her practice of medicine.

We are gratified to have been able to help facilitate a reconsideration by CDC officials of a medically unjustified policy.

Sweden Reporting Vaccine Deaths

According to the folks at flu-virus.org, 672 people have caught the flu in Sweden that has so far killed 2,475 people in 62 countries. Coincidentally, the US loses about that many people in traffic fatalities in six weeks.

Unlike the CDC, it appears that Sweden is now reporting deaths related to the vaccine. The case of Desiree Jennings suggests that the vaccine contains some nasty ingredients. She’s close to a full recovery after undergoing Chelation therapy.

Amil Imani on the "Religion of Peace"

Amil Imani debunks numerous myths about Islam in his latest report:

Didn’t our very own President go around the Muslim heartland and sing the praises of Islam at every stop? Didn’t he bow with great deference to the King of Islam in Saudi Arabia? Didn’t he proudly proclaim Islam as the faith of his dear and near kindred? Didn’t he, time and again, tell us that Islam is indeed the religion of peace? Didn’t he with his captivating oratory skills cite passages from the Quran to show how reverent he was toward this religion? Didn’t he appoint a raft of “devoted” Muslims to sensitive and high posts in government?...

Well, just a few problems that makes taking the President’s remarks and actions, as well as all the other Islamic apologists and know-it-alls, difficult.

• Claiming “Islam” means “peace” is fraudulent to begin with. Islam is an Arabic word. And the word for peace in Arabic is “solh,” and not Islam. Islam is derived from the root word “taslim,” which means submission or surrender. Hence, Islam’s true name, surrender, is in fact most descriptive of what it is: total, unconditional submission and surrender of the individual and the community to the will and dictates of Allah as revealed by his “rasool,” messenger, Muhammad.

• Further proof of the fraudulent nature of billing Islam as a religion of peace is the irrefutable fact that Muhammad himself led his followers during his lifetime in 78 battles, only one of which was defensive in nature

• Perusing the religion of peace’s holy book, the Quran, taken by Muslims as the literal revelation of Allah, reads more like a manual of intolerance and war than a divinely-revealed prescription from a benevolent God for a life of brotherhood and peace. Quran 2:216 "Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that you hate a thing which is good for you and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, you knew not. "Quran 8:65 "O Prophet exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you 20 steadfast, they will overcome 200 and if there be of you a 100, they shall overcome a 1000, because the disbelievers are a folk without intelligence"

• Deeds speak louder than words. From its very inception, Islam was a movement of violence. Violence both within its ranks as well as against the non-Muslims has been the unceasing practice. The minute Muhammad died, jockeying for power among his disciples led to numberless murders and battles. The faith of peace never saw peace even within its own ranks and never allowed the rest of the world any peace at all by lashing out to other lands near and far.

• A quick scan of the daily news shows the adherent of the religion of peace engaged in unspeakable acts of mayhem and murder in much of the world. There is hardly any need to allude to them here. But the Islamists have an answer for that too. Islam is not responsible, they say. It is only a bunch of opportunists who commit these acts for their own political and economic objectives. We are to believe that those daily suicide bombers explode their vests in the midst of marketplaces, funeral processions, and even mosques are doing so to further their own personal agenda.

• All these aside, a recent report from the FBI estimates that of the 2000 mosques in the United States, 10% preach Jihad. Welcome to the religion of peace as it is invading the land of the free to make it the land of submission. This is not some Islam-hating crackpot group reporting. It is the FBI, an agency known for its bending backward to be politically correct in tune with the rest of the administration.

• The Muslim population is rapidly burgeoning in America by high birth rate as well as successful extensive conversion in prisons. • Islamist apologists come in all shades. There are true faithful who are out and out in front about it. They believe Islam and its ways are the answer. It doesn’t matter whether it is seen as good or bad by others. Then there are those who are hired mouthpieces who are like lawyers that defend a murderer to the limit of their ability simply because they are paid to do so. That’s their chosen profession. We may not like either of the above two types, yet it is understandable.

• What really is hard to deal with are those who either, through ignorance or a misplaced sense of fairness and multiculturalism, keep saying that Islam itself is not bad, the Quran contains no more violence than does the Bible, and that the moderate Muslims who are the vast majority are good people and need to do something about the criminal minority. These folks go even a step further and call those of us who sound the alarm against Islam in general, as unjustified hatemongers. But the notion of moderate Muslims is an illusion created by the wishful thinking of a good-hearted yet deluded people. The so-called minority Jihadist-types are indeed the real Muslims. These Jihadists hate the so called moderate Muslims as much as they hate the kefirs – the infidels. And it is always the small group, the militant minority that eventually topples the complacent uncaring majority. History is replete with support of this contention. In my view, truth and the naked truth should be the only standard. No sugar-coating, no political correctness, no hired-guns to cover up for the Islam menace that has inflicted humanity for so long and keeps marching across the globe for doing more harm. So who is to repent? A Muslim by any other name is a Muslim. It is the human calling for every Muslim to cast off the chain of Islam and take his or her rightful place along the ranks of the truly peaceful and free people of the world.
