Obama Youth Activated in Ohio

Atlas Shrugs reader Chuck reports that he has a student in the eleventh grade in an Ohio High School. Her government class passed out this propaganda recruiting paper so students could sign up as interns for Obama's Organizing for America (OFA is the former mybarackobama.com site.)

Obama is using our public school system to recruit for his Alinsky-inspired private army. Organizing for America is (and I quote) recruiting in our high schools to "build on the movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda" ............ of national socialism.

The Ohio High School is Perry Local in Massillon, Ohio.

This is incredible. And evil. Suffer the little children -- enlisted like SS youth. This is no accident. Obama is poisoning our public school system. He acts as if it's his own private breeding farm. Once again academic learning and achievement is hopelessly abandoned, and supplanted by radical leftist activism from the leftwing Alinsky indoctrinators in the perverse public school system.

Children must be advised to expose this ugly propaganda. Children must tell their parents how they are being used and manipulated. Parents, warn your kids. Better yet, home school.

The Lesson of an Affirmative Action President

In the Soviet Union, everything was politicized. Incompetent people ran agriculture along Stalinist lines. Everything turned into a lie, and lies accelerated as they propagated through the system, in exactly the way the Climategate lies get worse and worse as they get passed along by politically correct bureaucrats and scientists. When political loyalty controls the outcomes, honesty and competence are driven out at every level of society. Nobody can point to Obama's anti-terrorist policies and say that's wildly incompetent -- without fearing they will be accused of racism.

From a temporary policy to give black people a better chance in life, we have now arrived at a Marxist goal of universal equality for everyone -- except for white, male, heterosexual, and excessively normal people. We have reversed racism, but guess what? Reverse-racism is still racism. As a direct result, corruption now pervades the big cities and Washington, D.C. Obama's election to the nation's most powerful office is the direct outcome of racial reasoning. It was race that put him over the top against Hillary, in a thousand media endorsements, and finally, against John McCain, who was old, male and white. Three strikes against McCain, who for all his faults is vastly more experienced and knowledgeable than the Obamessiah.

Meanwhile, blacks are still suffering from the pervasive social pathology of the inner city -- almost all self-inflicted, with the help of the welfare state. Europe shows exactly the same results, except that the victims of welfarism aren't black, but mostly white and Muslim immigrants. American blacks today are more bitter and more racially enraged than ever before, after forty years of affirmative action. Affirmative action hasn't helped women, who now have to work two jobs, one at home and one for income, especially because so many men have walked away from their families under liberal cultural values. Reverse-racism has actively hurt generations of children, who have grown up in broken homes as a direct result of pernicious social policies which Obama has actually tried to make worse. One of the first things he did was to reverse Clinton's welfare reform so that social pathology in the black community can spread its poison even wider and deeper. Obama, the God that Failed

By May 2009, Americans began to lose confidence in Mr. Obama, and the god began to bleed. The numbers saying the country was on the wrong track crept back upward. Mr. Obama' public approval rating began its great decline, the most rapid of any first-year president, according to Gallup. The decline has been broad and deep; Mr. Obama has lost support nearly uniformly from men and women across all age groups and all incomes.

The most striking slump occurred with the white middle class, which bears the brunt of Mr. Obama's wildly irresponsible fiscal policies. White approval dropped from 60 percent to 39 percent, and among middle-income Americans, support declined from 65 percent to 46 percent. Independent voter support declined from 66 percent to 45 percent.

Among those who attend church weekly, approval dropped from 60 percent to 42 percent, and there was an almost identical decline among married couples and those older than 65. This explains why Mr. Obama is attempting to pander to the middle class, without whose support he cannot be re-elected.It's not hard to understand Mr. Obama's historic descent. Significantly, the global war against al-Qaeda was hardly mentioned, and there were no measures outlined to enhance US security at a time of mounting threats from Islamist terrorists. Terrorism is a top issue for American voters, but President Obama displayed what can only be described as a stunning indifference towards the defence of the homeland.

The Iranian nuclear threat, likely to be the biggest foreign policy issue of 2010, was given just two lines in the speech, with a half-hearted warning of “growing consequences” for Tehran, with no details given at all. There were no words of support for Iranian protestors who have been murdered, tortured and beaten in large numbers by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s thuggish security forces, and no sign at all that the president cared about their plight. Nor was there any condemnation of the brutality of the Iranian regime, as well as its blatant sponsorship of terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As the example of Iran showed, the advance of freedom and liberty across the world in the face of tyranny was not even a footnote in the president’s speech. I cannot think of a US president in modern times who has attached less importance to human rights issues. For the hundreds of millions of people across the world, from Burma to Sudan to Zimbabwe, clamouring to be free of oppression, there was not a shred of hope offered in Barack Obama’s address. Last week I wrote about Stephen Coughlin’s analysis of the Quran, Islam, Jihad and America’s politically-correct refusal to admit Islam’s war against America. While the Quran requires all Muslims to convert or kill non-believers, US politicians require the TSA to search grandma and her grand children so that we don’t offend our enemies.

Author Diana West has had an ongoing conversation with an Iraqi soldier, who gives us a glimpse of America’s equally-incoherent kabuki in our theaters of war.

The soldier writes:

You correctly assessed that we have not gained anything positive from our efforts in Iraq and that the nation is not our ally. (The same is true for Afghanistan.) I will go as far as saying that the Iraqis are our enemies—enemies better equipped to wage jihad against us than they have ever been. We will regret what we have done. We will regret that we created this officially Islamic nation. And we will regret that we created an officially Islamic Afghanistan. We will regret that we have placed ourselves in the service of Islam, waging jihad worldwide as we advance the Religion of Peace and eliminate Christians in the process. Do I think that every single Iraqi or Middle Easterner is bad? No. But I think it is difficult to tell. An Iraqi or Middle Easterner will smile to your face or be your best friend one moment, and cut your head off in the next. It is odd that so many people cannot comprehend this. It is even weirder that those who pride themselves on being “culturally aware” cannot grasp that Middle Eastern culture and thought, and Islamic behavior and thought are completely different than ours (than ours on the Right, at least). Perhaps this ignorance partially explains why the U.S. had no reaction when Maliki declared victory over the U.S. when we moved out of the major Iraqi cities. But even if it is a partial explanation it still is no excuse. The Iranian War in Iraq is a travesty and has been since it started under Bush. I still cannot believe that a nation can war against us and murder Servicemen, and not pay the price of oblivion for it. Our nation sits back and apologizes, and defends itself constantly from accusations of an “illegal” and “unjust” war yet Iranians, other foreign terrorists, and even Iraqis go about murdering American troops without any consequence whatsoever. We should war back against them. But we won’t. (more here)

Voters Spurn the 'Boob Bait' of the Educated Class

When the New York Times columnist David Brooks first sat down with Barack Obama, they talked a lot about Burke. That's Edmund Burke, the 18th century conservative British politician and philosopher. Not Jimmy Burke, the 20th century Massachusetts pol, who said that all you had to know to serve in Congress was "Social Security and shoes."

The cold hard numbers in the Massachusetts special Senate election this week tell you something important about the appeal of Barack Obama and his policies on his 365th day in office. Democrat Martha Coakley did fine among the voters that would be impressed by your knowledge of Edmund Burke. But she got a thumbs down and Republican Scott Brown got a thumbs up from the children and grandchildren of the people Jimmy Burke represented 40 or 50 years ago.

What Brooks has described as "the educated class" -- shorthand for the elite, university-educated, often secular professionals who probably make up a larger share of the electorate in Massachusetts than in any other state -- turned out in standard numbers and cast unenthusiastic votes for the Democrat. Why Islam Deserves Criticism

How unfortunate it is that whenever someone attempts to show the facts of true Muhammadan Islam in unflattering manner in a public forum, he risks being tortured or killed by pious Muslims, even in the West. Alas!



The Muslim Ummah is utterly intolerant to criticisms of the Quran, Prophet Muhammad and Islam. Nonetheless, there are individuals who are brave enough to face the challenge of exercising their freedom of speech, their freedom of expression. Ibn-Waraq, Ayan Hisri Ali, Wafa Sultan and Maryam Namazie are some of the courageous individuals, who have chosen not to indulge in appeasing Muslims and political correctness. They have chosen to speak the historical, factual truth about Muhammadan Islam. And, unsurprisingly, they have been living under constant danger to their lives.

Another brave individual is the Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard. He drew the cartoons of Muhammad that appeared in a Danish newspaper in 2006 that hurled the entire Muslim world into violent frenzy. They started demonstrations and demanded death of the cartoonists and their publishers. On January 2, 2010, a Somali man, armed with axe and knife, entered Westergaar’s house and tried to kill him. This incident prompted me to write this article.

NRO, Newsmax Report on Obama's Questionable Donations

NRO Weekend's Andy McCarthy reports on Obama's questionable foreign and domestic fundraising:

My pal Diana West points me to Ken Timmerman's must-read Newsmax column — which naturally is getting no coverage in the MSM — about Sen. Obama's eye-popping fundraising operation. Bottom line: the would-be President of the World is raising goo-gobs of money from foreigners outside the United States (a violation of federal law), and matching goo-gobs of money inside the United States from phantoms who are blowing out the individual contribution limits by, among other devices, making up identies and breaking up contributions in amounts less than $200, for which reporting requirements are less rigorous.

According to Ken, the Obama campaign has raised nearly half a billion dollars($429.6M) but refuses to provide the names of most of the donors. Election law requires the campaign to track this information but not for it to disclose the names of those who donate less than $200, which is most Obama donors. (Sen. McCain discloses the names of all donors.) The Obama campaign has raised millions upon millions of dollars from outside the United States. Only Americans living overseas may lawfully contribute, but because the Obama vetting machinery is negligent (or worse), the probability is that enormous sums are coming from foreigners. The campaign knows the FEC is a lethargic agency and won't have a full accounting until perhaps years after the election.

This typifies the domestic fundraising issue:

In a letter dated June 25, 2008, the FEC asked the Obama campaign to verify a series of $25 donations from a contributor identified as “Will, Good” from Austin, Texas. Mr. Good Will listed his employer as “Loving” and his profession as “You.”

A Newsmax analysis of the 1.4 million individual contributions in the latest master file for the Obama campaign discovered 1,000 separate entries for Mr. Good Will, most of them for $25. In total, Mr. Good Will gave $17,375.

Following this and subsequent FEC requests, campaign records show that 330 contributions from Mr. Good Will were credited back to a credit card. But the most recent report, filed on Sept. 20, showed a net cumulative balance of $8,950 — still well over the $4,600 limit.

There can be no doubt that the Obama campaign noticed these contributions, since Obama’s Sept. 20 report specified that Good Will’s cumulative contributions since the beginning of the campaign were $9,375.

In an e-mailed response to a query from Newsmax, Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt pledged that the campaign would return the donations. But given the slowness with which the campaign has responded to earlier FEC queries, there’s no guarantee that the money will be returned before the Nov. 4 election.

Similarly, a donor identified as “Pro, Doodad,” from “Nando, NY,” gave $19,500 in 786 separate donations, most of them for $25. For most of these donations, Mr. Doodad Pro listed his employer as “Loving” and his profession as “You,” just as Good Will had done. But in some of them, he didn’t even go this far, apparently picking letters at random to fill in the blanks on the credit card donation form. In these cases, he said he was employed by “VCX” and that his profession was “VCVC.”

Following FEC requests, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro in February 2008. In all, about $8,425 was charged back to a credit card. But that still left a net total of $11,165 as of Sept. 20, way over the individual limit of $4,600. Here again, LaBolt pledged that the contributions would be returned but gave no date.

In February, after just 93 donations, Doodad Pro had already gone over the $2,300 limit for the primary. He was over the $4,600 limit for the general election one month later. In response to FEC complaints, the Obama campaign began refunding money to Doodad Pro even before he reached these limits. But his credit card was the gift that kept on giving. His most recent un-refunded contributions were on July 7, when he made 14 separate donations, apparently by credit card, of $25 each.

Just as with Mr. Good Will, there can be no doubt that the Obama campaign noticed the contributions, since its Sept. 20 report specified that Doodad’s cumulative contributions since the beginning of the campaign were $10,965.

San Bernardino County spent nearly $64 million in state and federal money last year to provide welfare benefits to the American-born children of illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants aren't entitled to welfare. But their citizen children are.

Nationwide, one in three immigrant-headed households uses at least one major welfare program, compared with 19 percent of citizen households, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that advocates immigration reduction.

In California, 192,660 citizen children are getting welfare checks passed through their illegal immigrant parents. That costs $546 million a year in state, federal and county funds, officials say. (More here)

Holder Refuses to Release Panther Documents

The Washington Times reports that the Justice Department, citing privilege claims, has refused to release e-mails and other documents sought under their open records to explain its decision last year to dismiss a civil complaint accusing the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place.

In a letter, the department said that while 69 documents totaling 135 pages were responsive to the Freedom of Information Act request for information on how and why the decision to dismiss the complaint was made, they were being withheld because of "deliberative process" and "attorney work-product" privilege exemptions.

(I)t wasn’t only Katie Couric. For the past two years, when Obama was in campaign mode and after his Acorn- and foreign-money-fueled election, the entire leftwing media debased what once passed for legitimate journalism. With absolute consistency, they:

• Failed utterly to vet an inexperienced, document-concealing candidate (we
  still haven’t seen Obama’s Illinois law license or an authentic birth
  certificate).
• Failed to investigate the veracity of aggrandizing information spewed by Obama’s spin doctors and then repeated their spin (they still say, for instance, that he was a law professor, which he never was).
• Failed to conceal their stunning lack of objectivity through the soft-ball questions they asked and, as Bernard Goldberg says, their “slobbering” obsequiousness.
• Failed to distance themselves from the leftwing radicals who see racism where none exists—and even echoed their paranoia!
• Failed to camouflage their personal biases both for Obama and against any of his critics or political opponents and competitors.
• Failed to correct his virtual avalanche of lies, which John Ellis has catalogued in scandalous and chilling detail, saying that “the accumulated weight of Obama’s deceit is overwhelming… as a result, this nation is now in a position where it cannot believe a word that he says, and that amounts to an unprecedented crisis of confidence in the Presidency.”

Those who've kept re-electing socialists into the California legislature are getting a new dose of hope and change in 2010. Democrats who've spent California into a $41 billion deficit have rediscovered traffic and parking tickets as a new source of revenue.

For example, if you decide to park illegally in a handicapped zone - $976! Do it again and it's $1,876! Of course if you steal a handicapped placard from someone's car and get caught, the "non-violent" property crime will get you a $100 fine.

The other violations are almost as breathtaking.

Obama in a Flat Spin

Jack Kelly is a former Marine and Green Beret. A former deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force in the Reagan administration, he writes about national security for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Of Scott Brown's stunning victory, Kelly writes:

Those few pilots who've survived one can tell you it's extremely difficult to recover from a flat spin. Unlike normal spins, in which the nose of the aircraft is pointed down, in a flat spin the nose is pointed up -- rather like the noses of Washington Democrats toward the hoi polloi who attend TEA parties. This makes the controls unresponsive, and the airplane falls from the sky like a leaf falling from a tree.

The Obama administration is in a flat spin. No president in the history of polling has tumbled so far in a single year from the lofty heights he enjoyed on the day of his inauguration. But as "change you can believe in" morphed into socialism you must pay for, the administration stalled out and tumbled earthward.

Because it is so difficult to get out of a flat spin, manufacturers of aircraft prone to them, such as the old Bell P-39 AiraCobra, advised pilots to bail out as soon as they got into one. That's what Democrats in the House and Senate have been doing on Mr. Obama's signature issue since Scott Brown's stunning victory in the Massachusetts Senate race. How Mr. Obama himself responds to a Republican victory in a state in which only 12 percent of registered voters are Republicans will determine whether he can get out of his spin in time to save his presidency. Illiteracy, Not Jobs, is the Problem

Heather Mac Donald is a contributing editor of City Journal and the John M. Olin Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. Of Obama's job initiates, MacDonald writes:

Jobs, whether government-created or not, aren’t likely to make much difference in the culture of illegitimacy. As journalist Nicholas Lemann observed over two decades ago in The Atlantic Monthly, the black illegitimacy rate has only a weak correlation to employment: “High illegitimacy has always been much more closely identified with blacks than with all poor people or all unemployed people.” An Alinskyite approach to the related problems of illegitimacy and crime is only a distraction. Seeking redress and salvation from the “power structure” just puts off the essential work of culture
change.

Barack Obama started that work in a startling Father’s Day speech in Chicago while running for president. “If we are honest with ourselves,” he said in 2008, “we’ll admit that . . . too many fathers [are] missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. . . . We know the statistics—that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of school and 20 times more likely to end up in prison.”

But after implicitly drawing the connection between family breakdown and youth violence—“How many times in the last year has this city lost a child at the hands of another child?”—Obama reverted to Alinskyite bromides about school spending, preschool programs, visiting nurses, global warming, sexism, racial division, and income inequality. And he has continued to swerve from the hard truth of black family breakdown since his 2008 speech. The best thing that the president can do for Chicago’s embattled children is to confront head-on the disappearance of their fathers and the consequence in lost lives.

Victory will signal Second American Revolution

(Jan. 18, 2010) — When Scott Brown gallops to victory tomorrow, capturing the Massachusetts senate seat made absent by Sen. Ted Kennedy’s death, it will signal a definitive referendum against all things Obama – his onerous and discriminatory “healthcare” bill (which an overwhelming majority of Americans fear and loathe), his failing economy, his escalating unemployment rate, his out-of-control spending, his accumulating federal debt, and, in far broader terms, his socialist-cum-communist regime, including those self-described Marxists and Maoist czars who are trying to whiplash our country into Castro territory.

How did this happen? It happened because America is a good and great country. Our electorate – approximately 43 percent of the over-300-million people who bask every day in America’s largesse – saw a nice young black man campaign for the presidency in 2008 and gave him a chance in spite of serious doubts about his lifelong radical associations with anti-American, anti-white, and anti-Semitic friends, colleagues, political associates and his church, not to mention his embarrassing lack of experience and also the grave questions about his Constitutional eligibility to become president. For liberals it expiated the white guilt of slavery; for conservatives it was yet another example of America’s historical exceptionalism. (more)

Jihad and the Department of Dawah…er, Defense

Last week I attended a private national security briefing presented by US Army Major Stephen Coughlin, who was expelled by Pentagon officials in 2008 for offending the Defense Department's Jihadist advisors. Note that these were not only DOD advisors but that these were Jihadi sympathizers whose affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood concerned Major Coughlin.

The main posits made by Coughlin:

• There are no Muslim extremists or moderates.
• The Quran requires all Muslims to convert or kill non-believers.
• Muslims who disagree or refuse are Apostates.
• Apostates can be punished with death.
• If you disagree you haven't read the Quran.

Andrew Bostom attended the same presentation. His report, along with Maj. Coughlin's presentation, provides all of the evidence and references necessary to support Coughlin's thesis.

This past Thursday (1/14/10) I attended a briefing (an early iteration of the discussion contents are available here, entitled “To Our Great Detriment”) which elucidated in irrefragable detail the Pentagon’s willful capitulation to the dictates of Islamically-correct interpretations of jihad by various Muslim Brotherhood “consultants” to the Department of Defense (DOD). While the DOD adopts the absurdly apologetic interpretation of jihad at its most “aggressive” as a bloodless missionary “striving” to promote the Religion of Peace—negating the living legacy of Jihad as a genocidal war doctrine, in practice as well as theory—the Pentagon’s Muslim Brotherhood advisors, true to the authentic doctrines of Jihad as an endless war of propaganda and deceit, continue to espouse Jihad war to their Muslim constituencies.

The result of this stunningly corrosive process has been the willful subversion of US Department of Defense policy to the ultimate goals of both cultural and violent Jihad—Islamization. More immediately, the warped, criminally negligent “rules of engagement” this DOD subversion has engendered are imposed upon our troops actually battling armed jihadism, putting their lives in danger, unnecessarily, and for precisely the wrong “cause”—alternative forms of Islamization, such as supporting Sharia-compliant regimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, irrevocably hostile to Western ideals and goals.

The dangerous absurdity of DOD subversion—and its cruel, destructive impact on our troops—is self-evident in this report and accompanying commentary (from Friday 1/15/10) by Diana West: This wasn’t supposed to happen there. According to a ‘counterinsurgency’ plan (COIN), anti-US, anti-infidel violence just wasn’t supposed to erupt in Garmsir, Afghanistan, of all places. But it did. And at least eight Afghans died in this Helmand Province district in rioting this week inspired by rumors that U.S. troops had roughed up a Koran. Somewhere between ‘one thousand’ (UPI) and ‘several thousand’ (The New York Times) Afghans converged on the central bazaar in response to these rumors. ‘The Taliban were provoking the people,’ an Afghan police official told the Times. ‘The Taliban were telling the people, ‘This is jihad; you should sacrifice yourselves.’

Jihad? What’s jihad? Among see-no-Islam Western policymakers, Islamic war doctrine is a cipher, a taboo, so policy is made in ignorance. But thousands of uneducated Afghans knew exactly what the Taliban meant. And what’s more, they acted on it. It was ‘like watching the movie Blackhawk Down,’ a Marine master sergeant told UPI, except ‘I was in it. HIV Researchers Still Digging Deeper Holes

When you're in a hole, STOP DIGGING.

It’s hard to remember a movie that has stirred as much controversy as the documentary, House of Numbers. Ever since its debut at the Nashville Film Festival last April, Brent Leung’s film school project has left audiences stunned and AIDS researchers and activists around the world concerned that their house of numbers will soon collapse.

While it was hard to understand what was driving their inexplicable hysteria eight months ago, it's now clear that those who most objected to the documentary are, almost without exception, the direct beneficiaries of questionable AIDS research funding - not thousands of dollars in funding but MILLIONS. While none of the signatories of this condemnation saw the documentary, ALL have received millions of dollars in questionable research funding:

The kingpin behind the scenes now appears to be none other than NIAID Director Anthony Fauci MD, who not only awarded their grants and may have directed more than $100 million in unaccountable “research funding” directly to himself.

One researcher conspicuously missing from this list was HIV discoverer Luc Montagnier MD who now admits that his peers push drugs and vaccines because there’s no profit in good nutrition or clean water:

In a desperate attempt to dispel the disturbing revelations of corruption that the documentary produced, Fauci’s propagandists created this website to explain why the Grand Dragons of HIV ended up looking so incompetent in the film.

Their excuse – the inexperienced film student simply cut and spliced their words to make them look bad.

After John Moore's ($34,109,410) incessant whining in the Huffington Post and the Independent (UK), Gallo employee Niel Constantine complained to reporter Rob Sharp:

Dear Mr. Sharp,

What John [Moore] is saying is absolutely true. What Mr. Leung has done is take our statements completely out of text [SIC - emphasis added]. For example, he and I were discussing the use of rapid HIV tests and their accuracy. I explained that the tests were excellent, but that some individuals were assembling rapid HIV tests from individually-purchased components and making these tests in their garages for sale. Such tests that had not been subjected to the quality assurance measures required by organizations such as the FDA were inferior and should not be used. That is, only tests that were approved by expert organizations should be used. Hence, my statement in the film “Now if I tell you that the test you took was lousy and didn’t mean a thing……”. Mr. Leung used this to imply that I was stating that HIV tests were useless.

The sound bites were extracted out of quite a long interview with me and presented out of context [emphasis added]. In my recollection (I don't have a tape of the interview) Leung was pressing me about HIV antibody tests in reference to screening blood donations....

Weiss continues:

When I said ‘I don't think the Western Blot is a useful diagnostic test; I don't think it's worth doing’, I was referring to relatively high throughput screening for blood banks, and in the mid 1980s we did not yet have commercial dip stick Western Blot kits available. In retrospect, it would have been better for me to say: ‘I don't think the Western Blot was a useful primary screening test’.

For those who have seen the documentary, it’s clear that Leung and Weiss were NOT talking about screening donors at blood banks. When Weiss replies that “…diagnostics say is the patient infected or not. You don’t need a western blot…” he is clearly talking about patient diagnosis. Brent’s question was in response to the competing interpretations (exposed by the documentary) between tests, labs, institutions and countries – that someone can be HIV+ in one country and HIV-negative in another – and suggests that Weiss and his cohorts are either 1) incompetent or that 2) HIV has acquired GPS technology.

Weiss continues:

I also cited what I regarded as a dogma that a Western Blot test was essential as a confirmatory test; ELISA tests made by two different manufacturers can also provide a confirmed result. For instance, in some UK labs the Wellcozyme ELISA using a competition format was used for primary screening and was then followed up with a confirmatory assay using the Abbott standard direct-binding ELISA instead of a Western Blot.

Weiss not only admits that some HIV tests are regarded as dogmas, but further states that they have been promoted into a holy grail.

LEUNG: I’m gonna ask you one last question that pertains to my HIV I took in Africa, and then will go on to –

LEUNG: Yes, I tested negative; it’s okay.

CONSTANTINE: It’s up to you if you want to disclose your results. Now if I tell you that the test you took was lousy and didn’t mean a thing, would that make any difference for everybody to hear?

LEUNG: It [would] make a difference for me.

CONSTANTINE: Yeah I know. You want everybody in the world to see that?

WEISS INTERVIEW:

LEUNG: Now in an effort to make the Western Blot a little more specific, why don’t they up the criteria from two bands to like four or five?

WEISS: I don’t think the Western Blot is a useful diagnostic test, I don’t think it’s worth doing, but it’s a useful prognostic test; once you know that someone is infected then you can follow their antibody responses well with western blots.

LEUNG: What is prognostic?

WEISS: You’re looking forwards into how the patient’s going to do in the future, in a prognostic test. Diagnostics say is the patient infected or not. You don’t need a western blot and it’s become a dogma in HIV research that you need one ELISA followed by a Western. You don’t! You need two different kinds of ELISA’s made in two different formats. Uh, Western Blots have been sort of promoted into some sort of holy grail.

Tony Fauci's Bankroll

Anthony Fauci MD has been the NIAID Director since 1984, when Robert Gallo alleged that HIV caused of AIDS. During the next 25 years, Fauci has granted himself 62 of 81 grants; and yet, NIAID still only believes that HIV causes AIDS.

Like Robert Gallo and Bernie Madoff, no one accounts for these grants and NIAID has yet to publically disclose the actual funds delivered to Fauci or how he used them - nor is there any evidence that Fauci has made any legitimate contribution to science or medicine.

If we understand the financial connection between Fauci and his defenders, we have a better understanding of their contempt for those who ask too many questions.

Note that Anthony Fauci awarded 36 of these grants to himself between 2000 and 2007.

All 81 of these grants were issued by NIAID to NIAID – from the NIAID Director to the NIAID Director Anthony Fauci. Unlike most grants, NONE of the monetary AMOUNTS of these grants were reported.

Based upon other known grants issued, the amount of these grants will likely tally somewhere north of $100 million. I found no evidence that HIV attacks cells or causes AIDS, nor have I found evidence that any of these grants produced anything of medical or scientific value.

Fauci awarded 36 of these grants to himself between 2000 and 2007.

The Dirty Rotten Scoundrels of the NIH

In the play Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, con-artist Lawrence Jameson has made a career out of tricking emotionally-vulnerable women out of their money. One day while riding a train near the French Riviera, Jameson watches as Freddy Benson clumsily charms a small prize from a woman he has flattered. Like Freddy, Robert Gallo MD was a marginal researcher who, like many others, faced a future of budget cuts and unemployment. Of Gallo’s career before AIDS, Cambridge University Professor Abraham Karpas wrote (p. 18):

In 1975, Gallo and (Robin) Weiss stated that they had isolated a human leukemia virus, HL23 virus, but this was shown later to have resulted from laboratory contamination by three primate retroviruses. In 1980 Gallo claimed to have isolated a human T-cell leukemia virus (HTLV), but did not present positive evidence that this was a human virus. During 1983-4, Gallo and his associates published several papers asserting that the human leukemia virus, HTLV-1, was the agent involved in the development of AIDS. This was eventually disproven but meanwhile the attention of many scientists was misdirected, wasting time and resources that could have been put to far better use…

In his Lawrence Jamison role, Anthony Fauci partnered with Gallo to dazzle the pants off the newly appointed (and scientifically gullible) HHS Secretary Margaret Heckler who gushed:

(The) scientific expertise at NIH is unparalleled, and we already had Dr. Fauci, Bob Gallo and CDC… I worked with Dr. Gallo because he was briefing me constantly… and I have so much confidence in him, and so much respect for him. He had identified the human T-Cell leukemia virus. He had a track record that was impressive… He had kept me so informed… He was quite confident at that time, and I derived my sense of confidence from my working relationship with him… Between Bob Gallo and Tony Fauci, [they] were the two heroes.

While Lawrence and Freddy only targeted rich gullible women, Fauci has successfully nicked the NIAID budget every year since 1983. By 2009, that budget had swelled to $4.5 billion – a tidy amount for a disease category that became statistically irrelevant by 1960 and is hardly noticed today in Europe, Australia or South Africa.

During that time, Fauci shared his budget with those who supported him. Not counting what has not been reported, the cohorts that unanimously objected to the documentary House of Numbers weeks before it debuted in Nashville last April are the same people who coincidentally receive millions of dollars in questionable research funding from none other than Tony Fauci.Other notable AIDS luminaries include David Ho MD ($16,918,448), amfAR Director Kenneth Cole ($3,518,613) and doctors Donald Francis, Robert Redfield, Michael Gottlieb and Fauci, whose self-distributed compensation remains unreported and unaccountable.

While $11 million gives Vincent Racaniello time to blog, he’s classy enough to post this disclaimer.

For just under $17 million, U-Conn psychology Professor Seth Kalichman composes libelous books and blogs that vilify uncorrupted scientists like Peter Duesberg PhD, James Chin MD MPH and Kary Mullis PhD who coincidentally do not receive NIH funding.

As one of Fauci’s most animated propagandists, Cornell virologist John P. Moore’s extramural activities include provocative emails and tireless blog entries. Moore also co-chairs seminars with Daniel Kuritzkes that teach journalists how to destroy the lives and careers of those who ask questions. Like Fauci, it’s hard to figure out how Moore finds the time to blog and snipe to justify his $34,109,410 in reported funding. Real scientists don’t blog – nor do they defend their work by attacking others. Like Fauci and Gallo, Moore is the consummate PharmaSlut – a retroviral fraud with tenure.

Other propagandists are less known but numerous. If you want to know how many people are dying from HIV in “rural Texas,” Susan Baer fills you in for $3,445,206. If you want a second, third or a thousand opinions, Google AIDS or GAY.

As long as Fauci and his lieutenants convince us to fear statistically irrelevant infectious diseases, we’re less likely to notice the drug companies that routinely kill and injure millions of Americans every year – the same companies and individuals that send multi-million dollar kickbacks to Fauci’s NIH proxy.

As Professor Karpas concluded in 2003:

Science as a body of knowledge is eventually self-correcting… Science is not always self-cleaning. The history of AIDS research involves huge rewards, unscrupulous ambition, disregard for common principles of scientific conduct, battles over priority leaving injustice uncorrected, and terrible consequences in the wider world….

Heroin for Dummies

Here's the latest smack on taxpayers. The city spent $32,000 on 70,000 fliers that tell you how to shoot heroin, complete with detailed tips on prepping the dope and injecting it into your arm.

The NY Post’s Brad Hamilton reports:

The Health Department handout has outraged New York's top drug prosecutors and abuse experts.

"It's basically step-by-step instruction on how to inject a poison," said John Gilbride, who heads the Drug Enforcement Administration's New York office.

“It's sick," said City Council member Peter Vallone Jr. (D-Queens)

"Foolish," said Columbia University drug researcher and treatment expert Dr. Herbert Kleber.

The 16-page pamphlet features seven comics-like illustrations and offers dope fiends such useful advice as "Warm your body (jump up and down) to show your veins," and "Find the vein before you try to inject."

It even encourages addicts to keep jabbing if their needles miss the mark.

"If you don't 'register,' pull out and try again," it says.

The brochure sends the wrong message about the dangers of the drug, experts
said.

"It concerns me that the city would produce a how-to on using drugs," Gilbride said. "Heroin is extremely potent. You may only get the chance to use it once. To suggest there is a method of using that alleviates the dangers, that's very disturbing."

Vallone, who chairs the council's public safety committee, vowed to shut down the distribution of the pamphlet.

"This is a tremendous misuse of city funds, and I'm going to see what I can do to stop it. It sends a message to our youth: give it a try," he fumed.

Gilbride and city drug czar Bridget Brennan noted that the manual does have some sound advice. It stresses the importance of kicking the habit, seeking professional help and not sharing needles. But it also spells out how junkies should ready their fix and the best ways to shoot it -- a bad idea when more New York teens than ever are trying heroin, they said.

"What we do not want to do is suggest that there's anything safe about shooting up narcotics," said Brennan, the city's special narcotics prosecutor. "No matter how many times you wash your hands or how clean the needle is, it's still poison that you're putting in your veins."

The guidebook, called "Take Charge, Take Care," has sections on overdosing, testing for HIV and hepatitis -- and how to "prepare drugs carefully" and "how to take care of your veins."

Kleber, a psychiatry professor, said the brochure could help save lives but that it was "foolish" for the city to include tips on how to shoot up.

The Health Department defended its brochure, saying it was helpful and necessary,
and has been distributed only to addicts or those at risk of becoming abusers.

“Our goal is to promote health and save lives with this information," said Daliah Heller, assistant commissioner for the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Use Prevention, Care and Treatment.

Asked why the handout tells people how to shoot up, Heller said, "From a health perspective, there is a less harmful way to inject yourself."

The flier fails to identify the city agency as its creator and distributor, and mentions only a group called LifeNet and the city's 311 help line as call-in resources to addicts.

LifeNet is run by the nonprofit Mental Health Association of New York City, which is heavily funded by the city. "It's certainly not ours," said association spokeswoman Beth Garcia.

Having arrested 2500+ heroin addicts, I've found that most street heroin (is there any other kind?) is about two-twelve percent pure and 88-98 percent filler that often includes feces, asphalt, salt, detergent, quinine and anything else you can imagine. Teaching addicts how to use clean syringes to inject street heroin is like teaching children how to use clean cups to drink sewage. That the Health Department of the most populated city in the US does this should also explain why our health department officials cannot be trusted to create policies regarding HIV or flu shots.

Democrats Kill Another Successful Voucher Program

This is big government at its finest hour. The Democrats have officially killed a successful private school voucher program banishing more than 3,300 low-income children back to the DC schools they so desperately wanted to escape. The Heartland Institute reports:

The leaders of D.C.’s school choice movement, Kevin P. Chavous (former D.C. Councilman) and Virginia Walden Ford (executive director of D.C. Parents for School Choice), today issued the following statement:

“House and Senate Appropriators this week ignored the wishes of D.C.’s mayor, D.C.’s public schools chancellor, a majority of D.C.’s city council, and more than 70 percent of D.C. residents and have mandated the slow death of the D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program. This successful school voucher program—for D.C.’s poorest families—has allowed more than 3,300 children to attend the best schools they have ever known.

The decision to end the program, a decision buried in a thousand-page spending bill and announced right before the holidays, destroys the hopes and dreams of thousands of D.C. families. Parents and children have rallied countless times over the past year in support of reauthorization and in favor of strengthening the OSP.

Yet, despite the clearly positive results and the proven success of this program, Sen. Dick Durbin, Rep. Jose Serrano, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Secretary Arne Duncan worked together to kill the OSP. Funding the program only for existing children shrinks the program each year, compromises the federal evaluation of the program, denies entry to the siblings of existing participants, and punishes those children waiting in line by sentencing them to failing and often unsafe schools. The Democrats have effectively ended the voucher program. Obama only extended it into the 2009-2010 school year. He could have done more. He didn’t. Underpriveleged children–whom the Democrats oppress “protect” from the greed and injustices of the Right had a chance to gain the social justice and fairness Obama continuously touts in his speeches.

The Democrats have spent trillions of our tax dollars so carelessly with failed stimulus pork payouts, cash for clunkers, auto bailouts, bank bailouts, and additional Fannie and Freddie bailouts, you would think they could spare an extra $50 million over five years to continue to educate poor children–especially minority children.

For the record, it was the Republicans in 2004 who started the voucher program and Republican Senator John Ensign (R-NV) who introduced an amendment to the omnibus appropriations bill to extend the voucher program. Democrats voted down the amendment 50-39.

Ensign said in a statement:

“In drafting this bill, Democrats put their political agenda ahead of educating our children. As a result, students who chose to leave a failing school and attend a better, safer school will have to return to the school they decided to leave. This is such a tragic situation.”

I can only deduce that the product of the Democrats’ social justice mantra is to give the poor enough money to buy the basic necessities, including food and clothes, but not empower or provide them the means–starting with education–to become so much more than a welfare dependent or government volunteer.
